Grant Writing

We know that the staff at non-profits has a long list of things to do. Researching, planning and writing grants takes a significant amount of time. Hiring grant writers as staff is not a possibility for many non-profits. At Serve First, we will work to help raise funds so that the staff of non-profits can focus on fulfilling the mission of the organization. Our grant writer will meet with you to with you to determine your needs, do the grant research, and write the proposal. If you want someone on your staff to write the grants, we can help with the research to find the grants that your organization is eligible for. We can also look over your proposals to edit it and tailor it to the specific grant. Let us assist you with the grant process however you need.

Collaboration

Sometimes we all just need a little help, advice or relationships with like-minded people. Periodically, we will bring in professionals in certain fields or areas relating to non-profits and will offer roundtable discussions, group meetings or individual meetings with these professionals. We will also have regular gatherings of non-profit members, church leaders and liaisons to collaborate about specific issues in our community and build better relationships. Training

Frequently, non-profit work requires on the job training and the staff has to figure out a lot of things on their own. A goal at Serve First is to assist you with development by bringing in professionals from a variety of fields to coach non-profits in areas that create common challenges. Subjects include but are not limited to social media, accounting, marketing, legal issues, fundraising, board development and management, strategic planning, website development and volunteer recruitment.
